Client Portal


Our Client Portal, available to established clients, allows you to do the following:

  • book, reschedule, and cancel appointments online (see below for instructions)

  • see what appointments are scheduled

  • pay your bill

  • access invoices

  • access handouts

  • access letters written for your child's pediatrician or educational planning team

  • view your signed documents

New clients of McGinnis Behavioral receive an email from the practice with a special-access link to the Client Portal. If you have not received this email or if you are experiencing difficulties accessing the Client Portal, let us know right away at

Instructions for self-scheduling:

After your first appointment, you may book your own appointments up to two months out. Please email us at if you would like an appointment within the next 48 hours, if you would simply prefer to talk to someone for scheduling, or if the self-scheduling feature is unavailable or for any other technical difficulties.

  1. Sign into the Client Portal

  2. Select the desired service from the drop-down menu (you may want to first ask yourself whether you are a self-pay or Cigna client, and whether you prefer a morning, midday, afternoon, or evening/weekend appointment; also, if you want telehealth, simply book an appointment and then email us at to let us know you prefer to meet via telehealth)

  3. Scroll horizontally for the desired week

  4. View availability, and select your choice

  5. Select your preferred time slot

  6. You will soon receive a confirmation



Telehealth Services


Client families who desire services via telehealth will receive a hyperlink to the telehealth appointment within a reminder email or text 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment. A Mac, PC, or Apple or Android device may be used.

The following considerations are important to ensure a successful telehealth session:

  • Find a quiet, private, distraction-free environment

  • Use a strong WiFi signal

  • Prior to each telehealth appointment,

    • close all apps

    • clear the browser cache/cookies

    • install the latest OS update if needed

    • reboot the computer or device

    • turn off all notifications

    • make sure your device is not on mute

  • Use SimplePractice's Pre-call Tool to determine whether your device and connection are ready for a successful telehealth session

Filing Out-of-Network


Dr. McGinnis is a participating provider for most Cigna policies. If we do not take your insurance and you would like to file for out-of-network reimbursement on your own, you may need the following information along with an invoice with a diagnostic (ICD) and procedure (CPT) code for each appointment; please check your policy for more information, and be sure to ask us to include the ICD/CPT information on each session’s invoice.
